Weekend Scoot

I drove the Vespa from Lansdale to Scranton on Friday night. I took all back roads, so what would normally be a 2 hr ride ended up taking 4 hrs! It was a beautiful scenic ride with nice smooth roads, but after 3 hrs, riding gets a little painful. On Monday morning, I headed back to Lansdale and attempted the PA turnpike. Even though the scooter is fine reaching the necessary speeds, highway driving is not fun. It felt like I was battling a wind spell the entire way. I don't recommend it.

Mystery Scooterist Identified

Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting Tim. He has the silver helmet and the Vino 125 like mine. He stopped at the Blockbuster on Wednesday. Tim has seriously modded out his scoot.
He has the Japanese Taillight and blinkers, the chrome front blinkers, some flashy Canadian accents, all to go along with some high tech mechanical modifications. Hopefully he will send me some pics so I can post them.

It has inspired me to finish up on some of my own mods. I can't wait to put the shark teeth on the front fender, which looks great by the way, Mike. Next on the list is the whitewall tires.

I guess Wednesday was Scooter day in Scranton/Dunmore. On my way to work I rode along with a young woman on a BEAUTIFUL Black Aprilla. I think if I get another scoot, that may be it. It was very nice. I also got to see our own blue beauty Heather tooling around Dunmore.

After talking to Tim, I had no sooner said to a kid I work with Justin, "Scooters are taking over", than Heather rode by. It's getting so you can't throw a stone with out hitting a scooter.

First New Member of the Year!

Hey guys, sorry for taking so long to update.

I just want to take a minute to introduce you to the Scranton Scooter Guild's newest member, Heather!

Heather got her new scoot at the end of August. It's a 2008 Honda Metropolitan in 'Ocean' (which is the absolute most beautiful blue you can imagine, you have to see this thing in person to truly appreciate it).

Heather's been getting in plenty of riding despite the crappy weather we've been having and is basically a pro already.

Also note that when you are scooting around Scranton and happen to pass by Heather, you'll be proud to say she's one of ours as she is the coolest looking girl on a scooter ever thanks to her ultra tight scooting ensemble.
