"Lackawanna County and Bike Scranton will hold a Bike and Scooter Fest in Celebration of Alternative Transportation in Lackawanna County on Sunday, August 24 from 2 to 6 p.m. on Penn Avenue between Mulberry and Linden Streets in downtown Scranton." More info.

Weekend Scoot

I drove the Vespa from Lansdale to Scranton on Friday night. I took all back roads, so what would normally be a 2 hr ride ended up taking 4 hrs! It was a beautiful scenic ride with nice smooth roads, but after 3 hrs, riding gets a little painful. On Monday morning, I headed back to Lansdale and attempted the PA turnpike. Even though the scooter is fine reaching the necessary speeds, highway driving is not fun. It felt like I was battling a wind spell the entire way. I don't recommend it.

Scoot Ride

"The Electric City Scooter Club" is having a scoot ride tomorrow. I know Mark said he might check it out. I can't make it. So, if anyone ends up going, let us know how it was.

And when will the Guild have another ride??


"Scooter Ride July 27th

The Scooter Club of NEPA is sponsoring a group ride on July 27th! The ride will be meeting at the K-Mart parking lot on the Pittston by-pass at 1:00pm.
The ride will be a no-highway 50cc friendly ride, so everyone with a scooter needs to get out there!
I'll be there as well as about a half dozen others as of today... hopefully there will be more by the time of the ride. This is the second ride that the scooter club of NEPA is doing.

June 22, 2008 Scranton Scooter Fest.

I would like to see if everyone is available or interested in a get together and ride. Perhaps something like last years trip to Rich's Golf Center. I would just like to get everyone together for a ride, some food and some pictures. Please let me know if you can participate.

Since our impromptu trip to Carbondale last Sunday was such a delight, and since all the kids like playing Frisbees, a new Scootquest option has reared it's fluffy little chipmunk head.

For your consideration...

A delightful day of scooting and Frisbee golf at Prompton State Park outside of Honesdale. If you're not clear on the location, check out the blue marker on our nifty new map feature at the bottom of the page.

This will take place, potentially, on Saturday, June 30th.

I cannot stress how nice this ride was.
I cannot stress how comically bad I am at throwing a Frisbee.
