On Sunday August 10th, the NEPA Scooter Club will be getting together at the K-Mart in Pittston. There will be a reporter from the Times Leader as well as a Photographer. I went a few Sundays ago and met some of the peeps. There were some very VERY nice scooters. One guy had one of those 3 wheeled Piaggio MP3's. It was interesting to see. It would be nice if as many people as possible could get there. Last time I did not go on the ride with them, however it was nice to just go and see some different scooters.

I will be going Sunday at 1:00. Even if you just come down for the meet and not the ride, it would be cool. I'm not going for the ride, just the meet and greet. Represent the Scranton Scooter Guild. Get those targets out there.

August Scootquest?

Okay, guys, the end of summer is fast approaching and we have yet to have had a chance to get the whole gang together for a big scoot ride. In fact, the Guild has grown so much in this past year (and is still growing) that we've got some folks who have never had the chance to ride together. I'm thinking Sunday, the 24th, but it's just a suggestion. Let me know in the comments below what date(s) you think are best, as well as any ideas for our destination. Let's make this happen!

"The Electric City Scooter Club" is having a scoot ride tomorrow. I know Mark said he might check it out. I can't make it. So, if anyone ends up going, let us know how it was.

"Scooter Ride July 27th

The Scooter Club of NEPA is sponsoring a group ride on July 27th! The ride will be meeting at the K-Mart parking lot on the Pittston by-pass at 1:00pm.
The ride will be a no-highway 50cc friendly ride, so everyone with a scooter needs to get out there!
I'll be there as well as about a half dozen others as of today... hopefully there will be more by the time of the ride. This is the second ride that the scooter club of NEPA is doing.

Patrice had a major smash up last night with a VERY drunk driver. Luckily she is banged up but doing well and nothing broken. The same cannot be said for her scooter, sadly. Patrice, we are all wishing you well and hoping this asshole gets what's coming to him.

Sunday Scooter Ride.

He recently purchased a blue Yamaha 50cc Vino Classic. (Possibly like the one shown here?) Sadly, I don't have pictures of Kyle's scoot, so hopefully he'll post some of his own and share some more info!

CAPTAIN FREEDOM!

I give up! me and Pidge had a discussion on how the older man on the blue metro w/ american flag officially hates all other scooters. Not two days later, i see him comin my way, i give a firm fist and a even more solid smile to the man....NOTHIN! I can see him look directly at me. There's no room for mopeass behavior whilest on a scooter! I say we play a classic game of road rash II with this guy!
p.s. the worst part is, today he was REAL tan!

Okay, so it seems that when we meet up, we are constantly relaying to one another all the unidentified scooter spottings. It's gotten so overwhelming that I end up forgetting half of them.

Gent on blue Yamaha Vino (Classic, I think), spotted on Linden & Ridge Row.

Gent on Denim Blue & White (2006 or before) Honda Mertopolitan or Metropolitan II, spotted on Linden Street & Harrison Avenue.

Red, 80s style scooter (sans rider), make unknown, spotted in the back of a pick-up on Mulberry the day Heather got her scooter (yay!).

Lady with longish brown hair in camo jacket on a silver Yamaha Vino 125 near the University, intersection of Adams and Linden.

Gent on black Vino (Classic I think), probably 2007, longish blonde hair and matte shorty helmet, spotted on Spruce Street, downtown.

Orange Stella whizzing by on Washington Avenue.

Mint green scoot with some black detail, not sure of the make (maybe Venice) parked outside a shop on Drinker Street in Dunmore.

Brian here, so I'm having a great day, got paid, paid some bills, gettin stuff done, its super nice out. I'm sitting waiting to turn left onto my road so i could go home and have a tall glass of that new green tea ginger ale that canada dry makes. I hear a quick tire screech VREEEE! CRUNCH! I JUST GOT RAMMED! The scoot tries shooting out between my legs like a water rocket, I did my best to keep balance(which was hard, because I'm now sitting on the luggage rack) finally I could no longer keep control and and the scoot tips over and i go spilling out on to the road like a loose orange. I get up,im freaking out because i think my scooter is totally crunched,I pick it up, NOT A SCRATCH! The plastic rear fender is crumpled(but i was able to kinda pop it back into shape) and the license plate flew off. I feel okay, the 70+ yr old lady tries saying i didnt have my turn signal on, but Paul (my new witness friend) alerts her to look at my bike and the turn signal thats STILL ON! She's near heart attack and i saw minimal damage so we exchanged numbers and i thought a miracle happened. Well, i took a closer look and i need a new taillight and fender and maybe some more crap, the whole back light unit is real wobbly. FUCK! and my heel is bruised and have a stiff neck, its official when you get in an accident you get stiff neck. never ends. I'm gonna call her tomorrow and demand money or im takin this to GEICO!

Another new Scooter Girl!!

Let's welcome the Scranton Scooter Guild's newest member - KELLY!!

Kelly's scooter is a pink, creme, and tan 2007 Venus 50cc. And it came with that sweet matching cargo trunk you see in the photos!

Kelly put a down-payment on this scooter a few months ago and finally picked it up today. And after more than a year of anticipation, Kelly will finally be riding around Scranton in style! Welcome and congrats, Kelly! :o)
